Esnati Thalani Gurura, 48, was found dead in an apartment in Athens, Georgia, and her partner, Kendall Elon Boone (27) was arrested and charged with murder.

“On November 5th, at approximately 4:20 PM, the Athens-Clarke County Police Department received information that there was a possible deceased individual in an apartment in the 100 block of Royale Rd,” local police said in a press statement.

“Upon arrival, officers located a deceased female … the initial investigation determined the female suffered an apparent gunshot wound.

“After investigating, officers were able to locate and arrest a suspect, 27-year-old Kendall Boone of Athens, in the 300 block of Jennings Mill Parkway.

“Boone was charged with Malice Murder, Felony Murder, Aggravated Assault, and Possession of Firearm/Knife During Commission of a Crime.”

Meanwhile, a GoFundMe appeal (click here to contribute) has been launched to raise funds for Gurura’s funeral and body repatriation expenses.

“Esnati was a beloved daughter, sister, and friend, known for her vibrant spirit, kindness, and unwavering dedication to her loved ones. Her sudden departure has left a profound void in the hearts of those who knew her,” said Ashley Gurura who is organizing this fundraiser.

“In this difficult time, we are reaching out to seek your support to help repatriate Esnati’s body back home to Zimbabwe where she can be laid to rest surrounded by her family and friends.”

She added, “A proper send-off is essential for honoring her memory and allowing her loved ones to say their final goodbyes.

“The costs associated with transporting her remains and arranging a meaningful memorial service are significant, and we are asking for any assistance you can provide.

“Every contribution, no matter how small, will make a difference and help us give Esnati the farewell she deserves. We appreciate your generosity and support during this heartbreaking time.

“Thank you for standing with us as we remember and celebrate the life of Esnati Thulani Gurura.”
