Teacher (53) nabbed for sexual assault on schoolgirls

Chemhanza Primary School, Bindura teacher Leondus Murovanidze is in trouble after he allegedly fondled two primary school girls' buttocks who were sweeping at the school.
The matter came to light yesterday at Bindura magistrates courts where Marovanidze appeared before Magistrate Tatenda Masaraunga.

Masaraunga remanded the 53-year-old teacher in custody until January 3 next year.

The state led by Carson Kundiona alleged sometime in November the teacher fondled a 13-year-old girl's buttocks while she was sweeping in a classroom.

On the second account, he fondled another girl of the same age (name withheld) who was sweeping a fowl run.

The girls reported promptly to the school authorities, but they tried to downplay the story.

Parents got the wind and exerted pressure which led to the arrest of the teacher.
